Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience in calligraphy?
No, this course is designed for total beginners and intermediate students, so existing knowledge in Copperplate calligraphy is not required.
Can I follow the course if I use a different nib from the recommended list?
Yes! You can use the calligraphy nib that works best for you.
You can even follow me with a fine liner or pencil. These tools are not flexible, so you won't obtain contrast, resulting in monoline strokes. This tecnique is great to memorise the letterforms and the starting flow at writing.
Can I follow your course with a Pentel Touch Sign Brush pen?
Yes, you can follow me with this tool as it is pointed and flexible. You'll notice that the challenging strokes will be the thinner ones, in contrast with the metallic nibs being the thick ones.
I recommend using the bigger blank guidelines size, as this brush pen is not as thin as the nib and will work better in bigger sizes.
Can I purchase this course as a gift voucher for a loved one?
Absolutely! Purchase this course and email me the person’s details, and I will create a digital voucher for them.
Can I still do the course as a left hander?
Absolutely yes! In fact, left handers are great calligraphers and you may find easier to follow the angle of the writing in comparison to right handers. Check this video about left hander positioning.
Is the calligraphy course in English?
Yes, and I am more than happy to answer questions and offer feedback in English, Spanish and Catalan.
Do you give personal feedback if we send our practice to you?
Yes, if you send me your homework by email, I'll review it and give you feedback.
Is there a discount if I purchase multiple courses?
I offer a 10% discount to students who have already enrolled in one of my courses. You'll enjoy a life-time access, plus I’m adding additional content every year!
